Broker Disclosure

Broker Status

MeritAir is a trading name of Merit Air LLC FZ, a company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. MeritAir is an air charter broker and does not own or operate aircraft. All flights arranged through MeritAir are operated by FAR Part 135 certificated direct air carriers who maintain full operational control of the aircraft at all times. MeritAir acts solely as an agent for the client in sourcing and coordinating charter services.

Operating Carrier Identity

Upon request, and in all cases prior to departure, MeritAir will disclose the identity of the direct air carrier operating your flight, including the carrier's FAA Part 135 certificate number. Clients have the right to request this information at any stage of the booking process.

Total Cost Disclosure

Quoted prices are exclusive of the 7.5% Federal Excise Tax and applicable segment fees, which are itemized separately on your final invoice. The total cost provided in your confirmation includes the base charter rate, Federal Excise Tax, segment fees, and any additional services requested (catering, ground transfers, de-icing, etc.). All charges are disclosed in writing before payment is collected. There are no hidden fees.

Cancellation Terms

Cancellation terms vary by operator and aircraft type. The specific cancellation policy applicable to your flight will be stated in your quote and confirmed in your charter agreement. The following are general guidelines:

  • More than 7 days before departure: deposit refunded less a 10% coordination fee.
  • 72 hours to 7 days before departure: 50% of charter cost retained.
  • Less than 72 hours before departure: 100% of charter cost retained.
  • Positioning (repositioning) fees incurred prior to cancellation are non-refundable.

Weather-related cancellations and operator-initiated cancellations are handled on a case-by-case basis per the terms of the operating carrier's contract.

Federal Excise Tax

The 7.5% Federal Excise Tax (FET) and applicable per-segment fees apply to all domestic charter flights as required by the IRS. These charges are not included in the base charter quote and will be itemized separately on your final invoice. International flights may be subject to different tax treatment. MeritAir does not provide tax advice; consult a qualified tax advisor for questions regarding the tax treatment of charter flights.
